Order tags overview

WhatPro automatically adds tags to the Shopify orders and customers it touches. Tags are how you see — at a glance, and in Shopify’s own filters, automations, and reports — what WhatPro did for each order.

Tags turn WhatPro’s activity into something you can filter, segment, and act on without leaving Shopify:

  • Filter orders in the Shopify Orders list by what happened over WhatsApp.
  • Build Shopify segments from customer tags (for example, newsletter subscribers).
  • Trigger Shopify Flow / automations off a tag WhatPro added.
  • Report on how many orders went through a given flow.

WhatPro applies tags at two levels:

When a flow runs for an order, WhatPro tags that order to record which flow touched it — for example, a tag marking an order as a confirmed cash-on-delivery order. Each flow type has its own tag, and the tag is added when the flow’s message is sent.

Basic order tagging (the flow’s own tag) is available on every plan.

Full lifecycle order tagging records the conversation lifecycle around an order — for example, when a WhatsApp chat about the order is opened or closed. Lifecycle tagging is a Growth and Plus feature.

Some features tag the customer rather than the order. The clearest example is the newsletter: a customer who subscribes through the WhatsApp newsletter popup is tagged so you can build a Shopify customer segment of your WhatsApp subscribers and target them in campaigns.

WhatPro only adds the tags it manages. You can remove or add your own tags on any order or customer in Shopify at any time; WhatPro won’t fight you for them. Re-running a flow won’t create duplicate tags.
